The Austin Children's Shelter

Howdy SPNFanily! My name is Jill Carlton, some of you know me, most of you won't...  I'm an Austin based author, and pretty FANatical about our boys and girls of Supernatural. As a "normal" Supernatural fan, it's only natural that almost everything encountered in daily life can be associated to our beloved show in some way or another as (the fics, pins, gifs [and yes we have one for EVERYTHING], meme's, chibi's and all things creative and occasionally a little ... uhm... yeah... the angel moose baby comes to mind...), will attest to.

So, when I dreamed the idea of donating 100% of this month's royalties to the ACS - (very much NOT a prophet thank you... though occasionally I've been known to tilt a bottle like one), the idea grew shoots, and this is one of them. Now mind y'all... I've never done anything like this before so if I'm a little less-than-stellar on the uptake, please forgive.

To close the month's fundraising, with what I'm hoping will be a nice little kick, I'm in the process of trying to organize an auction to benefit the ACS.

Now, the fact is I'm looking for donations of wares that can be auctioned off, whether it be something autographed by our beloved ones, fan art, or something your day-job does or offers (gift cards, resume writing services, passes to Schlitterbahn [Texans'll know what that is], etc).

I'm going to be auctioning off 3 signed full sets of all my books (boy would I love it if I could get the Boys to sign 'em! Now THAT would be a crowd pleaser!).

While I still haven't even managed to secure a date or venue for a live auction, (I figure if that doesn't work out then maybe someone'll donate the expertise to run an online auction... hint, hint, hint?), yet, I'm hoping that the powers that be at the ACS will maybe allow the use of their gym for such an event, that way, anyone interested could come and see the facility, and it'd be a hoot for the kids to find out just how much they mean to us.

Once I've talked with Lindsay Contreras (the lady I've been communicating with at ACS) and find out more about a venue, and whether they can participate in something like this, I'll post another Call to Action with a location to send the items, and to whose attention. (uhm... no porn or slash stuff please.).

If any of you have any questions please feel free to email me directly at jill@jacarlton.com, or to ask Lindsay how you can help, her email address is: lcontreras@austinchildrenshelter.org.

Thanks faNily!
